If you’ve ever sat with friends on a Sunday and wondered how players from your alma mater, or your favorite college team are performing at the next level, Alumni Tracker was built for you.
Alumni Tracker is a data-driven website that tracks how former college athletes perform in the NFL and NBA, organized by the schools and conferences they represented in college. Instead of following professional sports only by team or league, Alumni Tracker allows fans to view performance through a college lens.
Where the Idea Came From
I’ve spent my career working in sports, in both the NBA and college athletics. While working inside a college athletic department, I saw firsthand how passionate fan bases are about their former players.
There were times when local columnists would publish updates on how alumni were performing professionally. Athletic departments would occasionally highlight major milestones. But there wasn’t a centralized, searchable place where fans could consistently track the ongoing performance of all former athletes from their program.
That question led to this one:
What if there was a platform where you could see how every former player from your school was performing at the professional level, all in one place?
That’s how Alumni Tracker started.
Why Alumni Performance Matters
College athletics isn’t just about Saturdays. For many fan bases, it extends far beyond graduation day.
Entire cities will adjust their Sunday NFL viewing schedule based on where a former college star is playing. Fans follow careers, celebrate milestones, and debate which programs produce the most professional talent.
Alumni Tracker exists to provide:
- Clear performance data
- Conference and school comparisons
- Weekly and season-long tracking
- A way for fans and alumni to see real impact at the next level
It’s not about hype. It’s about measurable performance.
How the Site Works
Alumni Tracker compiles publicly available professional performance data and organizes it by college program and conference.
Currently, the site includes:
- Team-specific alumni pages
- Conference leaderboards
- Season offense and defense tables
- Comparisons across schools and conferences
Data is sourced from sports-reference.com and is paired with verified college affiliations.
At launch, the site includes approximately 60 pages, and that number will continue to grow as additional schools and features are added.
A Work in Progress
This has been a passion project built from scratch. I had never built a website before starting Alumni Tracker, and there is still plenty to improve.
Right now:
- Tables are static
- Updates are being refined
- User experience will continue to evolve
The goal is simple: make the information cleaner, more accessible, and more insightful over time.
Looking Ahead
Alumni Tracker is still in its early stages. The vision is to expand coverage, improve interactivity, and continue building a resource that serves fans, alumni, media, and college programs alike.
If you care about where your favorite college athletes end up, and how they actually perform once they get there, you’re in the right place.
Thanks for stopping by. I’m excited to see where this journey leads.
